FAQs
The answers we give on the phone.
Including the ones where the honest answer is "it depends."
How long does an installation take?
Most residential projects run a few days on site once materials are delivered, but the honest answer is that it depends on square footage, how much excavation the site needs, and access for equipment and material. We give you a realistic window with the estimate instead of promising a number that changes halfway through.
Will turf fix a yard that holds water?
Sometimes, and sometimes not. Turf itself doesn't create drainage. What helps is shaping the grade, building a base that drains, and giving water a path off the property. If your yard has a real drainage problem, we'll tell you what it would take to solve it — and we won't promise that a surface change alone is the answer.
Does artificial turf get hot?
Yes. In direct summer sun, turf runs hotter than natural grass, and that's true of every product on the market. Turf color, infill choice and shade make a difference, and we'll talk through it for your specific yard before you decide. We won't tell you it stays cool in full sun.
What's the aggregate base for?
The base is what keeps a surface flat, firm and draining years later. We remove the existing material, shape the grade and compact an aggregate layer to a depth set by how the space is used. Not every installation is built the same way — a dog run, a putting green and a commercial courtyard each need different construction.
Can you work around a pool or existing hardscape?
That's most of what we do. Turf gets fixed flush against coping, pavers and decking, and we plan drainage away from the pool. We'll walk the transitions with you before work starts so there are no surprises at the edge.
How do I get a price?
Start with the estimate request on this site, or call us. The online estimator collects your project details and a rough size if you know it. We measure the actual area before quoting, because preparation, access, drainage and turf selection change the final price.
Do you work with commercial properties and schools?
Yes — commercial properties, schools, playgrounds, dog parks and community spaces are part of what we build. Commercial work often needs specifications and scheduling around business hours, and we can provide what your review process requires.
Do you install artificial turf in Augusta, Aiken, Columbia and beyond?
Yes. Augusta, Columbia, Aiken, North Augusta, Lexington and Chapin are frequent project markets, not a hard boundary. We consider residential and commercial projects throughout the Southeast and beyond; travel, availability and scope are confirmed individually.
What is different about pet turf and regular lawn turf?
Pet areas need extra attention to rinsing, drainage, repeated traffic and appropriate infill. A design that works for a decorative lawn may not work as well for a dog run. Pet turf is not odor-free or maintenance-free.
Can I request an estimate without exact measurements?
Yes. The online form accepts a rough area, approximate length and width or an 'I'm not sure' option. You can also upload yard photos. We verify actual dimensions and site preparation before giving a final quote.
Are you veteran-owned?
Yes. Kingdom Turf Co. is veteran-owned and operated out of the Columbia area. It shapes how we run jobs: clear communication, showing up when we say we will, and finishing what we start.
